JTUC-RENGO started a dialogue with the Japan Federation of Economic Organizations (Keidanren) to climate proof our work.

In Nepal, the construction industry is the second largest sector. However, most of construction workers are recruited informally and, with climate change, they now face even more challenges – such as floods, landslides and earthquakes.

"GOLDEN TEA AND COFFEE" est une société de torréfaction et d'ensachage du café et du thé dénommé. Les participants sont les travailleurs de la Fédération Burundaise des travailleurs de l'Agriculture, de l'Alimentation, Hôtellerie restauration et branches connexes (FEBUTRA)

Golden Tea and Coffee is a Burundian company that roast and blends coffee and tea. It sells its products locally and internationally. On the 26 June, the Burundian union FEBUTRA visited the company to discuss the impact of the their activities on the environment.

It was discussed the use of plastic bags for tea wrapping, which were not biodegradable.

"The director said that the company is aware of this and, hence, it's their intention to use biodegradable bags in the future. She then showed showed us their new biodegradable stock".
Waste treatment
"The company claims that has put a special emphasis on this by working with another company UBUCO. Waste consists mainly of torn bags and residues of raw materials (coffee and tea)."

It was discussed about the smoke released by the roasting and blending machines.

"We asked what is the company doing to protect the air and the environment. The Director said that nothing has been done yet because no study has been done on this subject."
Clearing the dust
"The machines used by the company are in good quality and they protect the workers by excessive dust."

The CEO at AG Insurance Belgium has committed to set up a CO2 measurement, both for the managed infrastructure (through subsidiary AG Real Estate) and for the investments. #CpowMeeting
